A strange thing happened at Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos recently. A man named Akeem Sanni was arraigned for pushing his neighbor off the top of a storey building.
According to Vanguard, the incident which happened on May 27, caused Sanni, a resident of one of the streets in Ebute Meta West, to face trial on a charge of assault causing bodily harm.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Maria Dauda, said the accused had pushed down his neighbor, one Oriyomi Jimoh, from a storey-building, when he discovered that Sanni had illegally “tapped” electricity from his flat.
Magistrate Tosin Fowowe-Erusiafe granted the accused N50,000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to November 1 for mention.
Meanwhile, according to reports, a 23-year-old man identified as Henry Okeke has been reportedly jailed for stealing something strange.
Okeke who was given a six-months jail sentence at the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, was found guilty of stealing two cartons of malt and a motorcycle which reportedly amounts to N155,000.
